On July 1st 2012, history will be made, when the World Series of Poker (WSOP) announce Shuffle Up and Deal for Event #55, The Big One for One Drop, no-limit Hold’em tournament.
It is the biggest buy-in event in the history of the human race, and $111,111 of every buy-in will be donated to the One Drop charity, created by Guy Laliberte.
The number of entrants is capped at 48-players and, so far, 42 have officially announced their intention to play. Among the millionaires and billionaires of the business world, the poker community will be represented by the likes of Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Bobby Baldwin, Daniel Negreanu, Daniel Shak, and Erik Seidel.
Also in attendance: Gus Hansen, Johnny Chan, Jonathan Duhamel, Justin Smith, Patrik Antonius, Tom Dwan, Eugene Katchalov, Jens Kyllonen, Jason Mercier, David “Viffer” Peat, Vivek Rajkumar, Noah Schwartz and Sam Trickett

Recent World Poker Tour (WPT) Super High Roller champion, Tom Marchese, 2011 WSOP Player of the Year, Ben Lamb, David “Doc” Sands, and Jean-Robert Bellande are all potentials that have not yet been confirmed.
Two changes that have been confirmed are the inclusion of 64-year old poker ambassador, Mike Sexton, and the withdrawal of the controversial Tony G. Tony G is the manager of the Lithuanian basketball team, and has decided to take a short break from poker to pursue his passion in this other area.
